As part of our CSR commitments and our B Corp certification, in September 2024 we launched a brand new knowledge-sharing format for our customers: Breakfast & Learn! These friendly get-togethers are the ideal opportunity to build skills on key subjects, in collaboration with our experts and partners.
After previous editions dedicated to server-side use cases, campaign attribution measurement and consent optimisation, and ecommerce journey analysis, we welcomed two representatives of the Contentsquare Foundation to our February session: Marion Ranvier, Executive Director, and Natacha Madeuf, accessibility expert.
The Contentsquare Foundation was founded with the vision of building a fair and inclusive digital world for all. Its mission is also to work towards eliminating barriers to online accessibility, enabling everyone to take full advantage of the opportunities offered by the web through 3 pillars: education, research & innovation and advocacy.
Marion and Natacha shared some very interesting information on the subject of digital accessibility:

  • 1 billion people, or around 15% of the population, live with a disability according to the World Health Organisation (WHO).
  • 70% of the web is not accessible to people with cognitive, visual or physical impairments (Nucleus Research, 2019).
  • Software, digital services and hardware companies that are sold or used in the EU must comply with the European Accessibility Act, wherever they are based, by 28 June 2025 (does not apply to companies with fewer than 10 employees and annual revenues of less than €2 million).
  • Fines range from €20k to €50k per site per year.
  • 4% of companies are working to extend their offer to disabled people.
  • The amount of disposable income that disabled people and their families have per year is 13 trillion dollars worldwide.

To find out more about the subject, the Contentsquare Foundation is making the following content available:

Around 15 participants attended the event at our offices, with another 15 online. A big thank you to all of you for your presence and your enthusiasm, which made this event a real success!
