On July 3, the entire Optimal Ways team gathered for a retreat at ECOLAND Experience Alternative, an eco-friendly venue located in the Pas-de-Calais region, less than an hour from Lille.
We discovered a place that was as inspiring as it was welcoming, set in a magnificent setting, with a team that took great care of us from start to finish.
On the agenda:
🥗 A delicious vegetarian lunch
🏕️ A “Koh-Lanta”-style challenge focused on environmental responsibility
🤝 Wonderful moments of interaction and team building
But Ecoland is much more than just a seminar venue.
It is a true living laboratory where sustainable tourism, education, and scientific research come together to explore new ways of living through the ecological transition.
We were particularly impressed by:
🔬 Research conducted in collaboration with the University of Artois to better understand how our environments have a lasting influence on our behavior.
🏛️ The Super Adobe is the first public building in France constructed using bags of raw earth—more than 130 metric tons of local soil—without concrete or air conditioning. It’s a concrete demonstration that it’s possible to build differently.
💚 The incredible human journey that enabled more than 100 volunteers to bring this collective project to life.
